Unmarked Sterling

Post by hpidaves »

These 6" teaspoons are marked only with STERLING. One of them appears to have something stamped over the STERLING stamp. Any ideas as to maker and/or pattern?

Thanks,
Dave

Unless my eyes decieve me, there may be a fluer-de-lis mark left over under the new Sterling stamp in one of the close ups. If so, such a pseudo might point to Ludwig, Redlich & Co. before the changeover. I don’t know what patterns they had besides the souvenir spoon business, but perhaps a check might help. (Then again, it might be a water spout over a whale off the coast of Greenland. Thar she blows!)
