Would really apprieciate some help with these makers marks on a silver plate fork Image
i have already looked through all the marks on here but couldnt identify this one (unless i did it wrong) i am new to this sort of thing and very intrested so any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Traden.

Those are British silverplate marks.
Not sure, but I think these were used by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield England from 1848 to 1879.
They began electroplating in 1848. Started using the trumpet mark around 1879.

thanks for that Pat i did look at that in the image files along with some of the others never thought to use the extra s as shefield though but being a newby i am learning (thanks to forums like this one )all be it slowly but it is interesting
