Hi Guys
I wonder if anyone can help with these two Swedish spoons?
What are they used for? I believe the date is 1888 - K6.
They are the same year, exactly the same pattern, but one is made by GAB and the other CW. There is a mark before the date mark that appears to be a man with a hat - side view. The last mark on both spoons is a swan in a circle. One spoon weighs 45g and the other 52g. 21cm in length
Any help appreciated. I searched google and Tardy but alas have had no luck.

Re: Swedish spoons 1888 - unsure of town and fineness
::::: GAB is known, the Guldsmeds Aktiebolaget (GAB) is a larger workshop, I recall seeing this hallmark quite a few times over the years, founded in Stockholm in 1868 by A. Ambrosius, G. Th. Folcker, P. Fr. Palmgren and E.E. Petterson. and I haven't seen any notice of dissolving the business so it may still even be producing silver?
The man in the hat is the town mark for Stockholm, I think.
The tiny swan is the import mark for France so at some point this spoon was imported into France.
:::::: Not sure about the other spoon, although it is advisable to start another thread based on the CW spoon alone so it can be evaluated separately. :

Some more, but "the man with hat" :-)))) Yes it it Stockholm's crest Saint Erik. The "hat" is his crown. Anyway, The sugar sifter is made 1988. Today GAB is a part in the GENSE group. The factory is actually located in Eskilstuna.

Other spoon??? Open a new thread for it. According to the rules only one item per thread. Many objects in the same thread only causes confusion.

Thanks guys
Appreciated.
I will post pictures of this spoons twin but by a different maker.
Maker on the twin spoon appears to be G or C W. Same year, + Stockholm stamp plus french import stamp.
Always glad for the education.

::::: 1888 been trying to find a CW or GW from 1888 but cannot figure it out + strange that two identical spoons would have different makers. ::::::::

Yes of course 1888, my typo sorry. Thanks for correcting.
I found one CW. That would be Carl Winnerstrand born 1824 and dead 1899. Active in Stockhom 1861-1899. His widow Augusta and son Olof continued with the business to 1904.
