Post by jerome »

First off I would like to apologize to everyone as i attempt to learn the in and outs of the forum. I guess this would be my 4th try to get it ..hopefully this time is a charm. I have been attempting to research a silver bowl ?sterling? or Coin silver I am not sure but it has the makers initials which are D*S with what I belive to be a star interpolated between the initials if any one has any information it would be greatly appreciated ..thanks in advance

Dear Jerome, Your Bowl is Sheffield UK silverplate by DIXON J. AND SONS and date around 1835. Hope this helped. Best Regards. Myriam ( Info found from Bradbury's book of hallmarks old sheffield plate maker's marks 1743 to 1860 page 113 )
