Arezzo Silversmith

Post by GregbythePond »

I have checked the Contemporary notes section unsuccessfully.

My two Italian (Arezzo district) medals from 1966 (or later) have the same maker at 0.925 fineness.

The three hall/makers marks read as follows (not sure how to add a picture).

* 264 AR 925 (N over T?)

If there are any hints on the third mark (small jobs guarantee from the Vatican?), that would also be useful.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

https://postimages.org (choose 'Share', then copy the 'Hotlink for forums' code) is recommended. Do not use Photobucket or Dropbox.

Good evening
The medal you are showing was manufactured by
Monilart s.r.l. based in Capolona,a small village in the province of Arezzo,locality La Casella.
The NT mark, or whatever it is, is probably the engraver's mark.
The company ceased production before '98, according to my source.
I believe that now the only way to get more detailed information is to consult a numismatist

This would appear to confirm your information! Thanks!!!

At the moment, the third mark looks like T/N/L to me (engraver or other ...)

264 AR MONILART S.P.A. LOCALITA LA CASELLA CAPO-LONA (AREZZO) Italy 264 AR;CHAINS, MEDALLIONS, BROOCHES, RINGS, BRACELETS, KEYHOLDERS ALL MADE OF PRECIOUS METALS; GOLD AND SILVER INGOTS AND PRECIOUS STONES;STAR AND HEXAGON DESIGN;

Now that we have tracked this down, what is the process for adding it to the Contributors' Notes, Italian Silverware and Jewellery Manufacturers?

I will add it to the topic in the fullness of time.
