Watch case ? 1824

Post by populous38 »

Hi Guys
I wonder if you can help.
I have a watch case and looking at the flattened lions head with no crown and the shape of the i, I am thinking 1824 but I could be wrong.
Wondered on opinions.
Cheers.

Definitely 1824.

There is no record of a WR over D mark so WR is likely to be the case maker's mark (William Rowlands), with the D below it possibly a journeyman's mark.
