835 Fork Mark ID help

Post by richst »

Hi All
This fork is 5 5/8 inches long. Any ideas on the maker and the purpose of the fork would be appreciated. Thanks, Rich

Hi,

That appears to be a Christoph Widmann mark.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_9.html

The pattern is 'Hildesheimer Rose'.

For the purpose, plug sweetmeats into the search function for a start.

Thanks Trev, I believe you are correct. I was a little surprised to find out how little value it has.
