Dresden Table Spoon – Date Letter?

Post by ShinySpoon »

Hello everyone,

I believe this spoon is from Dresden. While the maker's mark is quite worn, I hope someone might assist in identifying the maker.

Additionally, I’m curious if the stamp located beneath the city mark is a date letter.

Thank you all in advance for your help! 😊

Best regards,
David

After conducting a bit more research on the coat of arms featured on this spoon, I believe it may have belonged to the noble family Von Ende. However, I’m not an expert in heraldry, so I could be mistaken. You can find more information here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ende_(Adelsgeschlecht)

Dear Peter,
thank you so much for the information! I was hoping the spoon might date back to the 1760s, as it would have been the oldest piece in my collection. But that's alright — it just means I'll have to continue my search for an even older one! 😊
Wishing you a wonderful day.
Best regards,
David
