Mystery makers mark “MuS”

Post by Peartree »

I previously posted this bracelet as (Central) European jewellery. But I am now sure the assay marks are Minerva - French -and 1891-1901 Austrian import mark. The question is who made this very very unusual bracelet - it has what I think is a makers mark MuS. see images. Would love to know who this is - it is evidently not a classic French makers mark? Thank you Anthony

MuS, probably a (French ) retailer's mark.

I am now pretty sure the maker is MARKOWITSCH & SCHEID, the predecessor to Georg Adam Scheid (Markowitsch was his father in law). So the bracelet is Austrian.
