Nederlands Zilvermuseum Schoonhoven
A visit to the Dutch Silver Museum in Schoonhoven means a fun, interactive and educational outing for young and old. Visitors see, feel, smell and hear silver and discover much more about this versatile precious metal in the World of Silver.
The unique collection is presented innovatively in stimulating themes such as 'life & death', 'braggarts' and 'eternal fame'. One of the highlights is the longest silver activity table in the world: an interactive table full of silver stories and assignments.
In the Silversmith's Shop, artisan blacksmiths reveal their secrets, after which visitors can get to work themselves in the Silver Workshop.
The Foundation aims to acquire, manage, research and present gold and silversmith's art, as well as all matters related to this in the broadest sense of the word, such as tools, drawings, designs, documentation and industry-related matters, as well as to stimulate interest in and the production of new precious metal products.
The Silver Museum has chosen to fulfil another new function: maintaining and stimulating the development of the silversmith's profession and thus fulfilling a social role.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 11:00 - 17:00
Admission: €13
