Silver Bloodletting Bowl ?

Post by Kelso04 »

I recently inherited what I think is a Silver Bloodletting Bowl (see pictures). It is inscribed 'John de TG Porteous' and from a google search I think this may be 'John de Tessier Gugy Porteous' who was a Montreal merchant https://americanaristocracy.com/people/ ... y-porteous. Looking at the hallmark on the bottom of the bowl I think it may have been made by Pierre Lespérance (1819-1882). Can anyone confirm that my thoughts may be correct ?

Many thanks for your assistance
