The Dres. Händel Art Déco Jewellery Collection
Until 31st December 2024
The "Dres. Margarete and Heribert Händel Collection" was donated to the Jakob Bengel Foundation in 2023 by Dr Aurelia Händel-Weber, daughter of the deceased collector couple, to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Jakob Bengel watch chain and jewellery factory.
The collection includes over 300 pieces of jewellery produced between 1930 and 1935. Most of the pieces of jewellery are made of nickel-plated brass and the early plastic Galalith (= "milk stone"). The collection also includes other, unlisted jewellery objects, Galalith samples and a large number of art-historically significant documents. The Dres. Händel collection is presented in the historic sample room and office of the Jakob Bengel company.
Opening hours: Check website.
Admission: €9
