Spoon, Germany? Maker?

Post by Vantlicht »

This wonderful silver spoon is clearly marked, however I am not a specialist for German marks. Is there somebody who can help me? With the maker? City? year? Thanks in advance!!

Hello, Czihak mentions a Johann Michael Schlüter (name also given as: Schlieter), active before 1808 and a Johann Georg Schlieter (a relative ?) active very rouhly from 1796 to well into the 19th century. Not sure about the date letter, neither Czihak or Scheffler are very clear about this. Just a gut feeling - might be for 1770, so this could be either master. Maybe Theo knows more about this.
