Provincial/Colonial ?

Post by windag »

I have looked through provincial and colonial marks and not had any luck, the long "fiddle terminal" is very much in the "Scottish" style, l thought one of the marks was a pot of lillies but the lion mark has thrown me, makers mark is clear but have looked to no avail.
Appreciate any help.
Regards
Nigel

Hi,

It's Canadian, one of the several marks used by George Savage and the other firms associated with him.

It would appear to be the mark of George Savage (2) 1843-1851, Toronto and Montreal.

Trev,
Excellent thank you, lucky to have six of these, not a great deal of weight but great condition.
