P*B stamp & other hallmarks

Post by tpaine77 »

Hello, can anyone help me here? This P*B stamp- and the other hallmarks are driving me crazy, trying to find out what they are. Is Britannia Plate, ever stamped as PB, rather than BP ?

Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the forum. I believe it to be French solid silver, typical French maker's mark in lozenge. I will move you to the French forum.

Peter.
Thank you so much! After I posted... I believe the one hallmark is of Pierre Queille. Anyways... I would guess I am likely a common sort of first time poster here, dealing with the loss of a parent by going through the silver. Although, I have always had an interest- and was quite surprised that the remaining silver my Mom left behind wasn't all plate. Wish I knew before she passed...

Such is life....

Cheers

PQ in a lozenge is the mark of Pierre Queillé, Paris.

Thank you silverfan. I am still curious what the "PB" stamp means... hopefully someone must know.

Hello
PB is a personalization (monogram). The pattern of your spoons is called Uniplat.
