Hi all,
I've been using 925-1000.com and other sites to identify a bunch of miscellaneous silver I inherited and one item has proven unidentifiable.
This tiny spoon (4.25") has the finest engraving of any item in the collection, a coffin-like hallmark I can't find any examples of and the finest engraving of any of the inherited items.
The majority of other items in the batch I inherited were from Sheffield, England (some were from early America, Scotland or other English assay offices too). Nearly every item was sterling (except for some examples of the first stainless ever made and a few Sheffield Plate). The majority were in the 1850-1950 date range with the oldest piece being 1797 and latest piece being 1990s. I expect this to be on the older end given the comparative level of tarnish.
If anyone has clues (for example, even other hallmarks of the same coffin shape with different contents), I'd be very grateful for your help.
