enamel spoon

Post by euroholic »

Hi. I have a spoon with enamel work. It is marked on the back with 800, a stamp of a fir or pine tree, and what looks like a bird with the letter c or m through it. This stamp is difficult to see even with a loop.
The enamel is on the bowl of the spoon and the figures are of bacchus and a satyr. There is finely detailed enamel work on the shaft and at the very end of the spoon is a turquoise color fully shaped urn with more satyr shaped figures going around the circumference of the urn. Quite a bit of work was involved in the making of this spoon.
Please give me some guidance as to where to look.
I apologize...I have no camera to take a photo.
thanks.

Hello

In relation to the here described item and mark, I guess it is: Max Fleischmann, Pforzheim, Baden, Germany.

Here I add some excerpts from 1903 (brief description of the company; advertising) and 1905 (mark) — company was founded 1892, and had from begin on this mark.
