onyx and silver bracelet mark alpaca hechoen taxco
HELLO, I BOUGHT A BRACELET THIS EVENING THAT IS MARKED IN A CIRCLE HECHOEN ALPACA TAXCO. IT HAS BLACK ONYX SQUARES AND PYRAMID SHAPED ONYX. THE STERLING IS IN SQUARES WITH THESE PIECES SET IN. ANYWAY. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THE MAKER OF THIS? I DIDN'T FIND IT ON THIS SITE. THANK YOU.

ANOTHER STERLING MARK FROM HECHEON
THIS BRACELET IS A MOTHER OF PEARL INSET INTO STERLING. IN STRAIGHT LINES IT IS SIGNED HECHOEN STERLING. ANYBODY EVER HEARD OF HIM?
Hi TL,
"Hecho en" means "Made in" so the first mark is meant to be read "Hecho en Taxco, Alpacca". Alpaca or Alpacca is another name for nickel silver.
On the second mark, either Mexico or Taxco is worn off or covered. It is meant to be read "Hecho en (Mexico), Sterling"
Neither of these pieces seems to have a maker's mark, which is not uncommon.
Please read the guidelines when you have a chance.
Thanks, Tom (admin)
