Unknown Marks on Silver Inkwell W-M-G-A1

Post by bullet655 »

I have a Silver Inkwell I do not know if it is Solid Sterling Silver or Silver plate but it looks like it was made of hot silver poured in a casted mold then trimmed off on the bottom where the mold was filled from. This is what makes me think it is solid silver. I searched about every corner of this website and can not find the makers marks listed any where. I would just like to know what the marks mean.
Thank you.

Hello.
The A1 mark is used on silverplated wares to imply high quality.
It's used by many different manufacturers, so it has no real significance.

Could not find that WMG mark in my books.
Could be British or American.

Pat.
