Wood, silver and porcelain humidor with touchmarks

Post by shelina »

Sorry, I would have described the marks better, but they're a bit worn. I'm researching this for a friend; she thought the metal was pewter until she found these marks, and it does look like it will clean up nicely. It's got a wood shell with a porcelain insert. I'm hoping maybe someone will recognize these marks, even though they're worn. Again, thanks a bunch for any help!

Hi Shelina-

Electro Plated Nickel Silver, Yours "S" has either worn off, or poorly punched.

Wow, you people are good! I actually know that EPNS is silveplated - but would never have seen those marks as letters! I thought the middle one was a head :). Now, of course, it's as plain as day! Thanks much.

Hi,

I've always known these as biscuit barrels.
