I believe Pseudo-English Marks on these hand built spoons
I tried to research these but the information that I found leads me to believe that these are spurious hallmarks probably pseudo-english marks made by American Silver makers pre 1860.. pretty funny business. They appear to be deliberately imprecise so as to appear to have been made fuzzy from polishing I think they were never meant to be deciphered, -

I believe those marks were used by Joseph Robinson & Company, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Nothing deliberate about that, local skills at die engraving where just not on par with those to be found in the assay offices of European capitals. Keep in mind that North American pseudomarks were not stamped with the intent to deceive anyone.badberrys wrote: They appear to be deliberately imprecise...
