Spanish silver mark?

Post by sebastian4743 »

Hello there,

It is a pleasure to join this forum. I have a problem in identifying these silver marks. I suppose it is Spain though I am not sure... it looks like a silver fake for me. What year can it be?

Please advise.

Hi Sebastian,
Yes, it is Spanish and the maker's mark is for Dionisio García. This silversmith worked in Madrid in the first half of the 20th century.

Dear Tom,

Thanks for your reply. Where can I find anything about the maker Dionisio Garcia? I have tried google but without any result. What reference did you use?

I found him on the site of Munoz Arce, you'll find them on our links page. However, there are examples of his work out there. Try a google search for

platero "Dionisio Garcia"
