Hi folks, I wonder if anyone out there can help me to identify what on earth this piece is? It carries A E Jones makers mark along with the hallmark for Birmingham 1925. I am assuming it is something to do with the kitchen because of what is wrote around the middle of it which says "THERE IS NO HERB LIKE IT UNDER THE CANOPY OF HEAVEN". Also, if anyone knows where I can see a picture of this piece or something similar I would be grateful for the information as I would like to have it repaired. Thanks, Nigel

Beautiful Piece by A E Jones 1925 but What is it???
The phrase on the piece is a portion of a quote from Charles Kingsley's book, Westward Ho (1855). The full quote goes as follows:
"When all things were made, none was made better than Tobacco. A lone man's companion, a hungry man's food, a sad man's cordial, a wakeful man's sleep, and a chilly man's fire, there's no herb like unto it under the canopy of heaven".
