Sheffield 1936 Makers Mark ' EV ' Coffee Spoon
Wahayyyy, No longer photo shy, I think I've done it ! I've been trying to upload photos for ages and at last it seems to have worked !
Ok, this is a Makers/Silversmiths mark which I can't find anywhere and wondered whether anyone can help ? A nice boxed set of six coffee bean spoons marked EV. Any bright ideas Grannma? Any thoughts gratefully received.
Shepherdess.

Hi Miles, thanks for the congratulations, I'm so pleased with myself !
Do you mean E Viners as in went on to become Viners ? Or am I barking up the wrong blackberry bush altogether ?!! I'm glad you're stuck inside on this lovely evening too, makes me feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one ! Thanks again, Nicky

I don't know whether there's another EV but found the one above when browsing this evening."Viners
Marks used:- EV
Trademark:- a five point crown
A large Sheffield based out-fit founded in 1900 and the most well-known Sheffield manufacturer from the 1930’s to 60’s. Much of their flatware is fairly average in quality, but they were innovative in producing new patterns and followed trends rather than solely churning out traditional patterns. One of their most popular patterns is Sandringham. They went out of business in 1982"
As ' borrowed ' from http://antiquesilverspoons.co.uk/canteenmakers.htm thankyou!
Thanks for the info Miles - re: the ps, you're not the only one, I've been responding all evening and in front of this machine researching most of this lovely day :)
I'll keep on looking for EV tomorrow see if I come across anything else, goodnight, Nicky

E Viner / Viner Ltd was from Sheffield or London or both?
I have seen hallmarks like this one for E Viner showing a city mark for Sheffield (see on this site: http://www.925-1000.com/dlSheffield.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
But I see also that in the list of London hallmarks we have E.V for E Viner: http://www.925-1000.com/dlLondon2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Maybe I am just highlighting my bad geography, but aren't Sheffield and London different places, with different assay offices?
Wasn't sure where to post this question, so I thought I would just tack this on here. Thanks!
