What-is-it question XCVIII.

Post by 2209patrick »

These silver and gold plated items are part of a set.
Made by Asprey & Company of London in 1973 for a special order.
I estimate the height of the items from 3 inches (7.62 cm.) to 6 inches (15.24 cm.).

What are these called or used for?
It might surprise you who ordered them.

Well done Wev.
Yes, they are chess pieces.
(Queen, King, Bishop, Knight, rook, & pawn.)

The set was commisioned by George Harrison of the Beatles.
Designed by Robin Crookshank. Modelled on the hands of Ringo Starr, including his rings.
