Can anyone tell me if this would be a Gorham mark. I don't understand the "C" part.

I was able to verify the mark as Gorham. Now about that "C" ? Any thoughts

Hi. It looks similar to Gorham's year marking of 1897. Is this possible?

The pattern is from 1888. I did double check and it doesn't match. Thank you for the suggestion
