Black velvet purse with decorated silver handle

I have this black velvet purse and I have looked everywhere to find markings similar to what's on it. It's marked in 4 different places 1.On the back, 2.On the handle, 3.Inside the handle and 4.Inside the purse on a flap that separates the sections. Any help would be appreciated. I have lots of pictures so if these aren't good enough please I'll post more.

The location of the markings as I said are on the metal flap, the interior is a soft leather and at one time was attached but has recently come off. They are kind of hard to see so if you have any trouble seeing them I will try to take more pictures.

Hi,

I tend to think it's a Groninger purse.
Not all marks make sense to me, it may be an assembled piece (some old, some not so old).

The lion-walking is the 833/000 mark for silver used between 1814-1953
What you read as the mark 3-above-GB in a square looks more like a 3-above-GR to me and indicates the makers mark of Gebr. Roelfsema who worked in Winseum (Groningen) between 1864-1910.

Remember that was also the era of al ot of pseudomarks, but to be sure you need someone to have a look at it.

I did some digging and found out the following:
The Gebr. Roelsema firm was famous for his fakes and fake silvermarks.
They specialized in birthspoons, but apparently did purses aswell.

One of the marks (the A above an 8) is a documentated pseudo mark for the Groninger dateletter of 1774/1775 (no. 15 "valse zilvermerken in Nederland" - K.A.Citroen)
The 2 above a Z is the false dateletter of 1653-54 (no. 392).
The "malthezer cross" with the little crown is a fake makersmark (no. 463).

Treasure this item, good pseudo marks are hard to find and they are collected.

p.s.: could you clean the mark next to the lion .. that might be a dateletter or an essay office mark.

Marks are indeed fake one's. This is typically a late-19th Century purse. These kinds of marks we also call Pseudo-marks, wich mean they are fake. One of the marks is meant to be the citymark of Groningen.
