If you can help id this egg cruet set I would appreciate it. The only markings are numbers on the bottom of the egg cups and one that has a mark that may be a makers mark. Also, does anyone know a way to tell if something is silver or plate? Help if you can! Thanks!

Hello from a cold Munich,
I really think it is plated, because of the appearence of the surface. It is unusual, that there are no makers marks on the bottom of the mainbody.
The deepening in the mainbody are for the used spoon, the hanging system are for the unused spoons.
It looks like a lovely item from the end of the 19th century, propably made by James Dixon or so.
Greetings from Munich
