Help to identify

Post by itspcb »

Can anyone help with the attached mark.

It is the only mark on a pocket watch retailed by a jeweller with premises in London and Paris, dated arround 1860 (guess). The jeweller is Hyde

Thanks

Hi Peter,

I'm not 100% sure, but the mark is very similar to the 18ct mark of Neuchatel in Switzerland, a renowned watchmaking area.

This mark was in use 1820-1866, so would fit in with your dating.

Hi Peter,

I'm now 100% sure.

Check out this excellent non-commercial web-site:
