Identifying Silver Markings and Manufacturer

Can anybody please identify the markings in respect to age, and manufacturer of this cane stick?

Hello Luckee,
Welcome to the forum!

From what i can see on your pics. I believe your cane stick was made in London in 1917.
Not shure about the maker.
A better pic. can be helpfull to determinate maker & year!

i know its W.B and the other side is COX, and this is a gentlemens

The hallmark is for London 1917/18 and the W.B maKERS MARK has been attributed to William Bruford although without certainty As to whether he is the correct maker.

Hello Luckee,
There is a William Burley of Clerkenwell with a mark registered in 1903 very much like the one here and shown in John Culme's Directory of Gold & Silversmiths at item 14422. Burley was a stick & whip mounter.
The mark for Cox is probably the retailer.

Unlikely to be William Bruford. He was, I believe purely a retailer (they as "Brufords" are still retailers in Eastbourne)
He never actually made anything, it was all made by other silversmith's but assayed under Brufords sponsorship.If Cox is the retailer, the Bruford would not be the sponsor.

hi, thanks for all of your interests, in this stick, perhaps i should mention , if you have not assumed already, that this is a sword cane stick, it may widen the possibilities of the makers, i can find no marks on the blade, which is V shaped.
