Hi Gareth,

What a find!

I read that as 1829, Assayer Nicholai Bubrovin (1822-1855)

Agree with maker, Ivan Kaltikov (1820-1834)

Now go and check the basement out again!

Regards Trev.

Thanks for confirming it,this is what i've brought up so far,(the silver looking cigarette case i asked about a month ago still never found anything about it.).
http://i43.tinypic.com/2hs50js.jpg" on ... urn false;

My parents really never cleaned the basement,just chucked stuff down there but last month we decided to clear alot of the rubbish out (mainly old stuff we never used).

My dad used to be a Disk Jokey when he was younger and he collected stuff back then,so i guess this is where everything got dumped :P.

still about 3/4 boxes to go through its mainly dux medals farm show medals and cigarette cases and other items.I'll probablly post alot more,I like this site its really easy to find out stuff with all the pictures and descriptions.

The case next to the blue one is Iranian i thought it was turkish at first as my dad said something like that,but then i had a wee look on this site and found that it was Iranian after looking at the Hallmark upside down for about 20 mins haha.

Hi,

About Ivan Kaltykov, he made especially snuff-boxes in niellosilver (as yours).

Trev had a miss-spelling in the assayers name so the lastname is Dubrovin.
