Help pls is lid of this jar silverplate? If so, from where?

I haven't been able to find this mark and would appreciate your help. In addition to the symbol which is both on the lid and on the edge around the jar, there are initials on the lid which look like VK with the right side of the V being the vertical bar of the K. Any help would be appreciated.

Since this item was moved from silverplate to Dutch silver, I guess the symbol is a key abutting a sword, meaning the lid is silver made for export. The VK might be Van Kampen although it doesn't quite look like it as the two letters are usually separate. The purity might be 95, or 85 as it looks as though a 9 was stamped over an 8.

Anyway, thanks for the move!

Hi Muraille,
In future, please post images of all of the marks. Makes all the difference between a guess and a positive identification and we all learn something new.
Regards, Tom

Hi,

Van Kempen used both the separated as the joined letters.
The 85 is probably a weight indicator or an inventory number.

Thank you for the suggestion that the number is an inventory or weight ID. In view of its size, it makes more sense.
