Th. Imsland Coin Silver Serving Spoons

Post by andrewshane »

I have this very nice pair of coin silver seving spoons. The mark is Th. Imsland and Th.I in two places. Same marks on both spoons. I cannot find any reference to Imsland. Does anyone know any history on him? Where was he from? Thanks.

Andrew

I am quite sure of a Norwegian connection. I did a search and found that there were /are gold- and silversmiths named Imsland in Norway. Some members of the Imsland family/families immigrated to the United States however and I cannot find a mark and a matching member. The names Theodor and Thorvald are common and seems to have been "inherited" in the family/families. Imsland is also by the way a small village in Norway.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards/JAKJO
