Russian fork

Post by jok23 »

Here is a silver fork with marks for Moscow 1896-1908. Does anyone know who the maker is?

Hi,

What are the two letters to the right of the Kokoshnik mark containing the female head?

Here is a better photo of the head mark. I can't work out what the letters are, but they appear to be quite distinct.

Hi,

The Assayer's mark appears to be that of Ivan Lebedkin who was appointed in 1899 at Moscow.

Hi, I'm new here. I've read this site many times but never attended. Now i thought it would be about time to join the forum.

A minor correction. The name of the aforementioned silver smith was Marshak. I small misunderstanding, the laying capital E is the Cyrillic letter scha not double W.

J.A. Marshak was the owner of the prominent and one of the best gold and silverware factories in Moscow. It was founded in 1878 and known until 1917. In 1897 worked at the factory 72 employees. He also collaborated with both Fabergé and Britsyn.
