Help ID 800 Silver mark

Post by carla21 »

Hi all!

I am not positive if this is a German silver serving piece or not but it was as close as I could get. Any help is always greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

Carla

MET could mean METAL (low silver or silverplate) - in Austria
In Germany are 40,60,90,100 for silverplate

- 100er Silberauflage

Hello, this is Polish silver and Polish plate. Maker is HeFra (Henneberg Fraget) in Warszawa, still active. The "Met" has to be used on plated articles to tell that it is not silver. Best wishes, Bahner
