Wolfers "Gioconda"?? candelabra

Dear forum members,

I recently added a lovely Belgian Wolfers Freres 4 light candelabra to my collection. Since it is a very interesting design, I tried to do some research on it. In its design it encorporates triangular shapes, which are also used in Wolfers famous Gioconda design. However, the candelabra is six sided, but the Gioconda service 10 sided. Could anybody tell me if this design was also part of the Gioconda interior, or maybe a derivative of it. The candelabra is marked with the Wolfers triangle three star mark, and with 833. It also has a design mark CA33 and another 18721. I hope somebody can help me in my research. Thanks in advance,

I checked the article, however the tea urn Jeanine is actually 8 sided, not 6 sided. Apart from that, the rest of the design also differs substantially from my candelabra (It does not incorporate the triangular shapes typical for Gioconda, and has a pearl edge). I still think it might be part of Gioconda, as the design was a complete interior, and I only know from the service that it is ten sided. Maybe other parts had less sides.

Sorry, yes it is actually eight-sided. It would be interesting if we could find detailed pictures of the Giaconda dining room in the Belgian Pavilion at the Exposition Internationale des Arts DÃ©coratifs in Paris 1925.

Perhaps you can find it in the magazine The Studio or The Studio Yearbooks of Decorative Arts.

One of the best sources seems to be
Reports on the present position and tendencies of the industrial arts as indicated at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, Paris, 1925, with an introductory survey, Harrow, 1927. It seems to be well illustrated and shows interiors as well as detailed photos of the items displayed e. g. Christofle metalware.

I found a picture of the Gioconda interior. Everything in this interior though seems to be 10 sided, so I think my candelabra must be another model, maybe inspired on Gioconda. The search goes on...
