Well comparred to the questions I have seen here this is piece of cake. But still for the fun of it. Bought it today. Danish piece.

Hallmarks 2 places is requered.
Guardeein Hinnerup, maker I assume Carl Peter Foght born 1802 master december 21st 1824 dies 1884 here a piece from 1848

You did not spoil anything. The purpose was obvious. And comparred to some of the items I see here.

But biedermeier it is - I daninsh the period is called (sen empire) late empire - the biedermeier period resulted in so many items for specific use at the table. So i found that this was valid for a question - being a represent for that period. Even though I knew that it would not last many secunds.

I wonder if they were strictly for tea or maybe wine, on this piece the straining area is quite small and I would think it would block very quickly if used for catching tealeaves.
