A very interesting "snuffbox" form (er I think...)!
London 1815. The maker is SN. I can't find that mark anywhere. Any ideas?

Interesting snuffbox
Grimwade provides three possibles
Steven Nost - mark of 25 February 1782 - Goldworker - page 379
who seems too early
Samuel Nash - marks as bucklemaker (page 400) in 1782 .Unlikely as according to Grimwade these were all square corned punches. Also a fraction early
Stephen Noad - smallworker (Mark No 2597) mark 30 June 1806 - more likely -
No NS marks look likely - never trust the assay office to punch the same way as the silversmith!

Thanks! I did look at the marks inverted but the N seems wrong in the serif font used. I suspect that it's a very unusual and early box. With a rare maker to boot!buckler wrote: Stephen Noad - smallworker (Mark No 2597) mark 30 June 1806 - more likely -

(Sorry, I couldn't resist!).

It's a seriously cute snuff box.
But I cannot make out the other marks - I cannot make out the George Head Duty mark. The U certainly looks like London 1815/16 .
If we had an image of the duty mark - - we can pin the date to perhaps a few months !
Oval George - 29 May - 13 Jun 1815
Base notched George - 14 June - 31 August 1815
Flat bottomed George - 1 September 1815 to 28 May 1816.
