Hello,

It looks like a 'HovedvandsÃ¦g' - a type of 'vinaigrette' used for smelling salts or aromatic vinegar.

It could very well be Danish - but I'm no expert. Hopefully our Danish silver expert Hose.dk will see this post and comment.

that is him born 1756 citienship april 1 1784. son of wolf petersen.
marries 1787 - living klostret 7
deputeret citicen 1792 to 1809.
dead 1824
The best known haderslev gold smith.

Regarding NFS and KCD
well s= sÃ¸n danish for son and d=datter for daughter

Niels FrederikSon and Karen ChristiansDatter most likely - that was their names.
K is the location it could be a small city or it could be a specific house (farm)
most likely close to haderslev.

the use of 2 times masters mark is common. Standart was 4 marks master, guardein, city and month mark. But in small town no guardein or even city mark. To show that silver was good - smith marked 2 times or 3 or 4 times same mark.

another thing given as a love token from the man to the woman. Might be given before wedding as "trolovelsesgave" gave= gift and trolovelse= intention to marry.

The place within the botton - that is where the woman had a coin when going to church. a coin for the churchcollect.

The hovedvandsÃ¦g represented welth - and the more stones "flus" the more expencive. Yours have lost its proberly red stones. Some have more than 100 stones.
Going to church the nightbours should see her (hidden) hovedvandsÃ¦g and there by see the financial status it represented.
