Gold Knife, Fork and Spoon?

Post by vhf.ferreira »

Hello,

I recently bought this set of 3 pieces that i thought they were gold. Can anyone please tell me if it is gold indeed and if yes, can anyone help-me to discover the marks or somewhere i can look for it?

Thanks very much

Hi vhf. Ferreira,

Could I suggest going to your local jewelry or pawnshop and having the set acid tested? Pawn shops are the best. They will be able to tell you if the set is solid gold and the carat.

Hi vhf,
Think your set is probably from Thailand and is made from a bronze alloy, similar to that manufactured in the US by the Dirilyte company.
