G. W. Halliwell Tablespoon

Post by dognose »

Hi,
Does anyone have any information on this maker, G.W. Halliwell?
The name and marks are on a tablespoon 9" (23cm.) long.
Any help would be appreciated.

George W Halliwell continued to be listed in census's and directories until 1874. George W Halliwell Jr continued the business at 290 Main along with Thomas Halliwell. The two younger Halliwells are listed in Poughkeepsie directories at the same address as before with the business name Geo W Halliwell & Co from 1875-6 until at least 1887.

You're welcome Trev. Thanks for letting me know there is some value in this information. Obviously, I'd do the look ups anyway, but it's good to hear from someone every now and then.
