There was a Francis A. Greshoff located in Baltimore Maryland.
Worked from 1864. Succeeded by Francis A. Greshoff & Son around 1887.
Don't know what their marks looked like.

The fineness of coin silver varied greatly and often from .900 fineness.

Franz Anton Greshoff a goldsmith and a resident of Telgte, Prussia (Germany) immigrated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1852 and was naturalized in 1857, so he didn't waste any time with the citizenship process. His anglicized name was Francis Anthony Greshoff.

As there was no one else in the family with a name that fits, it is likely that A Greshoff is the elder F A Greshoff's son who went by Anthony as a child, and at some point their business was known as F A Greshoff & Son.
