i have some questions about marks on this silver tea glass holder. I have identified Eduard Dannenberg's (Jelgava) mark and city mark from Riga.
RM, i thing is Richard Muller's (Riga) mark, its true?
But, i dont know what is "VIII". It is something like "tremolierstrich"? I know, in Austria, tremolierstrich was in use until c. 1806, but in Litva it is used even in 1887? And, why it form a number 8?
Also i dont know why there are two maker marks - different makers in different cities.
And, finally, know somebody this assayer?
Thank you very much for you assistance and sorry for my english (i am from Czech republic)
Best regards
M.
