H.Henriksen - big serving spoon

Post by Torbjorn »

This serving spoon is ca 28 cm long. Parts of it looks very well crafted, but other parts, like the top of the handle are a bit cruder. It could of course be wear and tear, but also the engraved pattern on the handle looks a bit crude.

Hi
Your spoon is made by H. Henriksen in Haugesund (1856-1911).
The mark before the name is the city-mark of Haugesund, Norway.

Thanks!

That the barrel is the city mark of Haugesund makes a lot of sense, the town was more or less founded on herring fishing.
