Your ladle is of 700-1,000 fineness (hence the »70«), made in Breslau, Silesia (mark right hand of »70«) in the year 1869 (look to the number 69, below Saint John’s head [here is the lower part struck only] — assay mark of Breslau/Wroclaw), in time of January 1861-January 1876 (the »U« in an slightly oval), made by ? (indicated between »U« and »70«), distributed by the jewellery retailers »GUTTENTAG&Co«, in Breslau, Silesia, Ring 29 (Circular Street, nr. 29), Germany.
Thank you for the information. There is a piece on a commercial site that has the same maker mark as mine. They say it is Korok. There were 2 in a book reference I found under publications. All in German so don't know what it said.
The commercial site is incorrect; the maker’s mark here - OK, incuse - is that of Breslau/Wroclaw silversmith Carl Friedrich Otto Theodor Krutsche (1830-1884), apprenticed 1845-1850, Master 1858.
Carl Friedrich Korock (ca. 1808-1858), Master 1835, died in 1858 and could not, therefore, have produced this spoon in 1869.
