Greek Silver Mark on Antique Pipe - Need Help to Identify

Post by Argiry »

Hello,

I need some help identifying what these Silver marks mean on this Antique Meerschaum Pipe - they are definitely Greek and the relief is either Apollo/Zeus or Alexander/Philip II. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forum. What a good looking pipe, great pictures too. Is there any chance of a full picture of it? Granted you've shown enough to get your silver questions answered which I feel certain will come from one of the may true experts on this site, but I'm just curious.

Thanks,

Pat

I think, it is from Germany.

13 = 13 Loth = 13/16 = 0,8125 silver
the Maker : ?:B
but there is no townmark

This probably doesn't help much, but I thought I would give it a try to help with the mark identification:

Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate the time and research! I thought the letters were Greek but now it looks like I was wrong. It makes more sense it is German, thats where some of the best pipe makers were. Any other ideas or info is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Take care all

Best Regards,

Alex

ps, when I can I will take some more pictures and upload them for you
