Cant identify these markings....

Post by dickyboy »

Hi

I have got these candle sticks, I was left them by my Grandad but after spending hours trying to identify the hall marks I still know nothing about them. Not even sure what metal they are. My Grandad got them from my Great Nan, he thougth they were gold, I dont think so though.

Please help any info greatly appreciated

Thanks Richard

Hello Dickyboy

Welcome to the Forum.

Yours photos of the marks aren't informative!

Please look trough the other answered topics for to get an impression how the marks must be shown.

Also your question is posted in the wrong place!

Please place your question, and sufficient large photos of maker’s marks, again in: Silverplate Trademarks - Worldwide.

It seems to me to be the correct place, if I interpreted yours granddads info correct: A shine of »Gold« is often a sign of Nickel-Silver with a low grade of Nickel contents in the alloy - and when the plated silver would be polished, the edges are often blanc by wear and tear = the basic material, a kind of brass, became visible.

So, please place your question again.

Kind regards silverport
