confused about makers mark??

Hello

Can anyone give me some clues as to who this maker is. I have looked at makers marks for WH but im not sure if they match. The table dressing mirror is dated 1900 Birmingam. I thought it might be William Holmes but not sure. Any help would be really greatful. Many Thanks Jonathan

Upside down the mark looks rather more like HM than WH. A possible candidate is Lionel Spiers trading as Henry Matthews. See the Forum's list of Birmingham marks.
