Dutch Spoon Ring

Post by Sgt. Silver »

I've got a Dutch spoon ring, I've had it for quite some time now.

To be honest I'm not sure if it's actually silver. But I was hoping you could help with the hallmarks.

The face of the ring (top of the spoon handle) shows the Dutch coat of arms, as pictured below, with the word 'NEDERLAND' under the crown, above the lion.

On the inside of the band (back of the spoon hand/neck) it has three marks. An A in a circle, a crown in a circle and a H in a circle. Both letters are thin, plain letters, no bolding, italics or embellishments.

Since I couldn't get a clear photo this is the best I can do:

I know it's nothing special, but can anyone help me identify the year it was made or information on the original spoons or something?

I've gotten some okay photos of the ring, but can't get any of the hallmarks on the inside:

Hi Sergant Silver,

To me the material of the spoon, made into a ring, does look like pewter.
Do not see any valid silver hallmark.
The lion with seven arrows in his claw represents the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. For more information see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_Republic" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Regards,

Oel
