From a privat colection with a big chance and luck i I bought (cheap ) this silver cigarette case.'in a very good condition almost new, I wonder if the item is genuine. Does anyone know more about ...? hallmarks , year, manufactory... the only thing we know is that it comes from Russia.

your cigarette case is authentic! It is not Russian, it is Sovietic (USSR), made by ÐМЮ4 = Ðртелъ "МОСКОВСКИЙ ЮВЕЛИР" = Artel (cooperative) Moscow Jewellers. In use 1954-1960. 4 is the date = 1954. Silver content: 875/1000
I can not read the letter left of the Rabotnic (worker´s head) - it should be the Greek letter "delta" - maybe you send a clearer photo. The pushbutton on the thumbpiece is a cabochon made of red enamel (glass). The case is in very good condition, the motiv "Mountain climber" is well known, I think it is in Caucasus - in the background Elbrus, in the foreground Ananas.
